Security Guard License North Carolina requires its prospective security guards applying for license to:
1. Be at least 18 years of age and a high school graduate or equivalent.
2. Be a US citizen or a resident alien.
3. Be of good moral character and temperate habits (no criminal record, etc.).
4. Have a clean criminal record, i.e. no felonies of any kind
Required Training
Interested security guard applicants in the State of North Carolina must complete the 16 hours of training standard by the North Carolina Private Protective Services.
Applicants are required to be at least 21 years old to be registered as an armed guard and complete 24 hours of classroom instruction and score at least an 80% on a firing test.
